The sahasrara, crown or violet chakra is located at the top of the head. When this chakra is open, you connect with the Divine source of universal life.

This seventh chakra relates to consciousness as pure awareness. It is our connection to the greater world beyond, to a timeless, spaceless place of all-knowing. When developed, it deals with perfection, integration, unity with the divine, wisdom and purpose, universal consciousness, understanding, enlightenment, knowledge and spiritual connection.

The color for this 7th chakra is a mixture of silver, gold, white and violet. For some, the silver and gold colours represent respectively the feminine and masculine sides of creation whereas the white/violet light symbolizes clear vision of the truth.

Physically, it governs the right brain hemisphere and the right eye. Also it controls the pineal gland and parts of the nervous system.

To help activate this violet chakra, amethyst gems are helpful. The symbol of this chakra is the lotus.

This chakra wavelength and frequency are approximately: 380-440 nm / 789-682 THz. The corresponding musical note is: B.
